Difficult rebuild is passing major hurdles
"Thanks to Aero Trader, we now have sum of two units new longerons we needed for our aircraft," said a member of the Southern California Wing of the CAF who is working forward the ground up restoration of B-25J USAAF s/n 44-30988 The aircraft had been donated to the CAF further its owner instigated court action to realize the plane back. The CAF prevailed unless in the meantime, the aircraft had been stored in a corrosive environment and the condition of the plane had taken a distinct down-hill revolve The Mitchell was put into ferrying condition and flown to Camarillo, California, where CAF members have been working upon the bomber since 1993. a great deal work has been completed and it is estimated that the B-25J will go [i]or[/i] come back to flying condition in a pair of years.
