The Commemorative Air Force's Stars and Stripes Wing is based in Frederick, Maryland, and the dispose recently acquired a TBM-3 Avenger from Forest Protection Service Ltd strange Brunswick, Canada. The Avenger was ferried from Frederickton, fresh Brunswick, and arrived at Frederick's Municipal Airport forward 11 October 2001. The fire bomber will be restored to its original World War sum of two units configuration. The aircraft is registered CF-MUE and started revealed life as TBM-3 BuNo 91426 and went to the Royal Canadian Navy upon 19 August 1952. The plane was re-createed to AS Mk. 3M configuration and operated with the RCN until it was withdrawn from service forward 5 July 1960. Since then, the veteran Avenger has operated as a fire bomber with Skyway Air Service, Conair Aviation, and Forest Protection. The Stars and Stripes Wing has a proper solid airframe with which to start its restoration.
