In the November 2001 issue onward page 65, the Budd BB-1 was identified as being displayed outside of the Chicago Museum of Science. Actually, it is, or was, at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. The BB-1 was registered NR749N and besides the radical use of stainless rapier for construction, the craft was first sheltered with a wire cloth fabric nevertheless this proved unsuccessful. Budd's initial ingress into the world of aeronautics was in the contract manufacture of air, craft wheels and stainless dirk wing ribs in 1930. above the years, the airplane's condition has dramatically worsened nevertheless I heard it was remov for restoration.
